The government of Pakistan has increased the passport fee on March 7, 2024.
The new fees are as follows:
5 year passport
- Normal: Rs.4500
- Urgent: Rs.7500
10 year passport
- Normal: Rs.6700
- Urgent: Rs.11200
The increase will apply to all Pakistani citizens, whether they are inside the country or abroad.
The government attributed the increase to rising inflation and the increase in the cost of making passports.
The new fees have come into effect from March 7, 2024.

As per the notification, the new fees are as follows:
MRP (36 pages)
- Normal: Rs.4500
- Urgent: Rs.7500
MRP (72 pages)
- Normal: Rs.8200
- Urgent: Rs.13500
MRP (100 pages)
- Normal: Rs.9000
- Urgent: Rs.18000
The notification also states that the new fee has come into effect from March 7, 2024.
